Background WIP - Rocket Interior
Just tidying up the blog in an attempt to restart it in some manner, and came across a draft post containing an old background I was working on for an AGS game - a steampunk-style adventure. Figured I should keep it here for posterity rather than just delete it. Hopefully it might prove as some inspiration or use to someone.

Random sprite - Government Agent
Been knocking some character concepts around this weekend for a game I've started preliminary work on, so figured that I'd share some of the results of that concepting here as I produce them. First up, a government agent...

AGS Forum Sprite Jam - 4th March
Challenge: "Take a famous movie or TV show character and turn them into an adventure game sprite."

I've been throwing around the idea of making an Austin Powers-esque adventure game for a little while, so this seemed like an ideal opportunity to re-create the man himself.

Death On Stage
My first AGS game is finally complete!
The culmination of a month's work - learning the AGS editor, producing the graphics and scripting the game, can be downloaded HERE.
"Death on Stage" is the story of an amateur magician who figuratively "dies" onstage and has to reinvent himself to succeed.
I hope that you will download it and give it a go. If you do, please come back and let me know what you thought, I'd really appreciate it.
Edit: Version 0.5 uploaded. Corrected a few bugs and typos, added music and added extra interactions/responses to characters and items. Hopefully this is the final version.

MAGS January Production Diary 6
Lots of progress has been made these past few days since my other commitments have stopped. I've completed all of the rooms, along with their items, hotspots and puzzle-related variable coding. I've also coded most of the actions and events in the game. All that remains for me to do is some of the dialogue trees, and one of the puzzles which has been giving me some concern. Hopefully I can get some time in front of the computer tomorrow and finally hammer those things out and possibly even reach a state I'd be happy to release the game in! :D
There are things I'd prefer to add (such as responses for "wrong" uses of items), but with the deadlines looming, I can forego those things for now.
I've also decided that Music and SFX will be a later consideration. Only if I manage to get the game finished with PLENTY of time to spare will I attempt to add some before the deadline. This doesn't worry me too much, as it has never been something I've worried about. Taking some time to find the ideal audio files will be a nice way to come down from all this hard work.
Current Progress:
Story: 100%
Puzzles: 100% written, 90% coded
Graphics: 99%
Animation: 100%
Coding: 80%
Sound/music: 0%
